To receive the MPTAAS scholarship in 2026, new & existing students must complete the mandatory One-Time Registration (OTR) on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Under the New Education Policy (NEP), OTR is a compulsory requirement for applicants enrolled in government or private colleges pursuing a degree or diploma course.
The One-time Registration on NSP is scheduled to begin in July 2025. Now, MPTAAS OTR is the way to ensure you receive scholarship payments in a registered bank account. Even if you have previously received the Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) through the MPTAAS Scholarship portal, you are now required to update your OTR from profile on your dashboard.

How to Create NSP OTR Using the Mobile Application
Creating a One-time registration on the National Scholarship Portal through the mobile application is highly recommended as it utilizes Face-Authentication for instant MPTAAS e-KYC.
- From the Google Play Store, install the NSP OTR app on your Android mobile device.
- Open the app and tap on “Register“. First, you need to accept the guidelines. Scroll down the screen, tick both checkboxes given at the bottom, and tap on Next.
- Now enter your registered mobile number that is registered with your Aadhaar, and then tap to send OTP.
- Enter the OTP in the given field, enter the captcha code, and verify. Now you can see three options for eKYC:
- Since we have Aadhaar, we select the first option and enter our 12-digit Aadhaar number in the box, tap on the next button, and agree to the terms and conditions.
- Install the Aadhaar FaceRD app from play store, accept the terms and service, and return to the registration process.
- Now the camera will open, and your face will appear on the screen. You need to blink your eyes for capture. You will then see a success status message.
- After this, all the details linked with Aadhaar will appear on the screen.
- Tap the Next button to finish your eKYC process successfully. Your OTR number will be displayed on the screen. You will also receive this OTR number via SMS on your registered mobile number.
Now, simply click on Login. Use the OTR number as the username and the password sent to your registered mobile number to log in. This is how you can complete your One Time Registration (OTR).
Pro Tip: Make sure your face is in natural daylight while using the FaceRD app to avoid ‘No Face Detected’ errors.
One Time Registration on the NSP portal is mandatory for all students, especially for SC, ST, and OBC categories. Through the NSP app, students can complete their OTR very easily.
How to Link NSP OTR and APAAR (ABC ID) on MPTAAS Portal
Once you have generated your 14-digit OTR number, the next crucial step is linking it with your MPTAAS profile. Without this linkage, when you check your MPTAAS status, your scholarship disbursement (Paid status) will not trigger.
- Log in to MPTAAS: Visit the official MPTAAS Portal and log in using your User ID and Password.
- Navigate to Update OTR: Go to the “My Profile” (प्रोफाइल डिटेल) section on the dashboard and click on the last option, “Update OTR”.
- Enter Details: * In the OTR Number column, enter your NSP OTR ID.
- In the APAAR/ABC ID column, enter your 12-digit Academic Bank of Credits ID.
- Fetch Data: Click the “Search” button.
- Note: If it shows an error, click the Search button 3-4 times until your Aadhaar details (Name, DOB, Father’s Name) appear on the screen.
- Final Submission: Scroll down and click on “Register Now”. Select “Yes” on the confirmation pop-up.
Success Message: You will see a notification: “OTR Registered Successfully.” This confirms that your ABC ID and OTR are now officially linked to your scholarship account.
National Scholarship Portal Update: Found Duplicate with other Scholarship Portals
A new update has been observed on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for the 2025–26 academic year for both Fresh and Renewal scholarships. In the application status section, some students can see the message “Fund Duplicate with Other Scholarship Portals.”
Under normal conditions, this status should display “No.” If it shows “Yes,” it indicates that the applicant has applied for more than one scholarship scheme, which has triggered a duplication alert in the system.
If you have applied for only one scholarship, but the status is still showing “Yes,” you should immediately email the NSP Help Desk. While sending the email, attach a screenshot of the status page and clearly mention that you have submitted only one scholarship application, but the system is incorrectly showing a duplicate fund status. In most cases, this issue is resolved after verification by the help desk.
